My dad showed me a funny website a few years ago. A scientist (crazy man in white coat) takes different items and attempts to ‘blend’ them in a blender. The site is called “will it blend” (http://www.youtube.com/user/Blendtec) My favorite blending video features Chuck Norris. Yeah, he doesn’t blend. I wish they could figure out a way to ‘blend’ things without destroying them. Couldn’t we blend some of our favorite things together? I know we already have peanut butter and chocolate and cookies and cream, but I’m talking about a bigger picture here. I’d like to take some characteristics from different people and blend them together to make the perfect person, or at least the person (besides my children) I could stand being around more than and hour at a time.

I have friends that make me laugh, friends that are fun, friends that inspire me, friends that teach me, and friends that I feel safe and secure with. But no friend has all that. I wonder if BlendTec could put them all in a blender and make me a perfect friend. It could be messy, true. We could end up with something like the alien boar that was transported in Galaxy quest, inside out, but I think it is worth a try.

If we can’t ‘blend’ them, maybe we can cut and paste? Remember the good ol days when we physically had to print something out and cut it (with scissors) and then paste (or tape) it together? ah, the good ol days of cave dwelling. I kind of miss those days in a way. I like hands on projects. Of course, if I cut and pasted the best parts of my friends together, I could end up with someone I couldn’t stand to look at….that is always a risk. My papers weren’t always pretty now that I think back.

I hope I am not alone in this problem, I hope it is not because I am completely shallow or short sighted or overly developed in the olfactory area. I hope I am a good friend, maybe even one that has a part someone would like to cut and paste onto a ‘perfect friend collage.’ If they do, I hope they cut me out so I look good. I’ve always wanted to be a supermodel….never made it because, well, I like to eat. Cause I said so.
